Designer's note

Greenfield approached us with the need of getting properly understood by landowners and visitors from websites. Furthermore their identity didn't ooze of transparency, because there was an abundance of stock photos being used.

At an early phase, we already knew that illustrations would come in handy solving the problem of properly understand what processes Greenfield are doing and how they can help landowners and investors alike.

with a minimal setup in terms of layout, colours and typography, we really let the illustrations shine through.

Honor the illustrations

From the contour lines of the illustrations to the UX / UI layouts of the interface, we wanted to get the wireframe look you see in architectual drawings. The whole aspect of seeing a concept of a product, while not being completed starts and ends with sketches and drawings.

Getting the wireframe look

Measurements, lines, boxes, balance and space was inspired by the blue architectural drawings in layouts - how everything is in systems and there is a place and meaning with every inch of the layout was a huge inspiration. The layout would still emphasise a corporate feel, but also speak to a creative level, while being pleasent to scan, read and understand.

Custom CMS Map

In every handover process, it's important to understand how easy it is for the clients to take things further when the cooperations are on hold until the next round. Greenfield is ever growing and they had a need to easily update their projects around the world.

So I made a CMS library with lattitude and longitude coordinates, that could speak to the Mapbox world map, acoompanied with a small javascript pop-up box for small informations. These CMS datapoints could be easily updated in just a few minutes, without the need of developers.

Conclusion

While it was a hard and long project, it was incredible to work with the Greenfield team, they pushed us, while we pushed them towards a result that can last for years and help them grow in the world of green energy investments.
